Default Barrage Ritualist, is it possible ?

Basically, I'd like to try out this build:

[skill]barrage[/skill][skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]savage shot[/skill][skill]splinter weapon[/skill][skill]bloodsong[/skill][skill]antidote signet[/skill][skill]nightmare weapon[/skill][skill]triple shot[/skill]

12 Marks
10+1+1 Channeling

Suggestions are welcome

It's more than possible it's a reality! and it works like a charm; splinter-barraging and nightmare-tripleshotting is quite possibly one of the most potent uses of weapon spells imo.

Personally I'd take Ancestors Rage over Bloodsong, unless you want extra pressure on the baddies.

But really it's a good solid build, should mow through packed pve areas something wicked. Have fun!

I would say it isn't as good as a barrage ranger for 4 reasons.

1. SW isn't as good as it used to be.
2. Barrage is a spam skill and a rit is hurt by not having expertise. Plus you don't have a staff or offhand when using a bow so you have more limited energy.
3. The one extra pip doesn't make up for not having -2 energy cost per barrage.
4. Rangers have slightly better armor vs phy and a lot better armor vs elements.

Ritualists make better splinter barragers than rangers due to the sheer damage they can put out. I usually run with [skill]Spirit rift[/skill] and [skill]ancestors' rage[/skill] on my bar aswell as the usual splinter, barrage, nightmare, d-shot, etc. Sets up a very nice nice AoE spike.

I do Slavers all the time and i can usually churn out [skill]Frozen Soil[/skill], [skill]Spirit rift[/skill], [skill]ancestors' rage[/skill], [skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill] and [skill]Barrage[/skill] until the cows come home with very few energy probs. Just use Radiant insignias, a few Attunement runes and a +5e bow and things work out fine (i have 49 energy with 485HP, similar to most other casters). A Zealous bow is also a good idea but i also bring a Channeling staff for situations where barraging is pointless at which point i'll just spam spirit rift, ancestors and wand stuff with nightmare weapon up.

That build you got seems fine. Bloodsong may be slightly out of place but it has its uses.

I'm assuming you don't have full attribute points available yet? With the full 200pts you can run both marksmanship and channeling at max lvl.

Thx for suggestions, I'll try it asap. I got full attributes but I didn't check out if it was possible to carry out both them up

I have seen a few Splinter Rits, and have ran a R/Rt build like this, but theres a few problems with Rt/R:

1) Lack of Expertise. Lowered energy costs allow a R/Rt to spam Barrage, whereas Rt/R may be more limited.
2) Splinter Weapon nerf - this means that you ''wont' be doing as much damage as possible

Other than those 2 main factors, I guess it could work. Id rather run R/Rt though.

It works, but it's almost always a better option to throw the splinter weapon on physicals in your party. Splinter weapon adds the same amount of damage to any attack, and your barrage will have relatively low innate damage.

Nightmare triple shot is extremely weak. 150 damage is not going to spike anyone out, and the 15 DPS is not any sort of an effective way to kill things. Bring the useful channeling skills if you need single target damage, like ancestors' rage.

Also, for your atts, you should be able to go 12 channeling/12 marks.

@MywayFtw
Well, that is mostly true, however
1) You can still add Zealous mod to it.
1-2) Rit has 4 pips of energy regen.

2)It's true that splinter got "nerfed" but using Spirit's Strength buffs up the damage. IF you use Volley, which is almost equally effective

So, if you want to run Rt/R, go for it
If you want to run R/Rt, go for it.

P.S.
It was just my opinion

1) It's armor ignoring
2) It's a cheap, fairly productive self-heal for the build.

I think it's worth using in most cases so you don't have to spec Resto to get a heal in there.

Why do you need a self heal?

After a little bit of tweaking I've come to this alternative build:

[skill]volley[/skill][skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]savage shot[/skill][skill]splinter weapon[/skill][skill]antidote signet[/skill][skill]spirit's strength[/skill][skill]spirit siphon[/skill][skill]ancestors' rage[/skill]

Spawning Power: 11+1+1
Channeling: 10+1
Marksmanship: 10

All Radiant, One vigor rune and 2 attunement.
Weapons: Zealous Longbow of Fortitude (15^50), Sundering Flatbow of Fortitude (+5 e).

Probably not the best in the world, but I'm fine with that

Edited, ty bungus.

Needs spirit siphon, where there's barragers there's spirits often. that one helps with e-management. That and zealous bows.

I see one glaring problem with that build unless you are running a spirit spammer with you........lack of spirits. Spirits streangth is wonderful.

just use a zealous bowstring that solves your energy problems.

also the enitire point of using a rit instead of a ranger for this is you can go 16 channeling.

[skill]Essence Strike[/skill] and zealous bow is the answer

Edit

You’re a rit use [skill]Mend Body and Soul[/skill] for healing and condition removal

Edit 2 Run 16 in channeling other wise you are no better then a ranger for splinter.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh here is my build

[skill]Barrage[/skill] [skill]splinter weapon[/skill] [skill]Warmonger's Weapon[/skill] [skill]Wielder's Strike[/skill] [skill]essence strike[/skill] [skill]bloodsong[/skill] [skill]mend body and soul[/skill] [skill]Death pact signet[/skill]

16 Channeling
9-10 Marksmanship
Balance in restoration

Splinter is great in PVE till you get down to one target then you have nothing to do but barrage. This build adds a little more damage to 1 on 1

Zealous Bow is a must

You don't need marksmanship.
